Thanksgiving is almost here and I’m reminded this time of year is not about food and gatherings with friends and family — it’s about recognizing, and honoring the blessings in life.

That made me ask: how grateful am I the other 364 days of the year? The answer is simple, it always comes down where I place my focus. When I lose sight of gratitude, I lose grace.
Through years of working a powerful program, guidance and wisdom always arrives when I ask for help. We all have heard, “Life is as it should be,” even when accepting what is in the present moment feels difficult.

Sometimes I need a moment of quiet to get centered, but what really works is getting into service, taking my chair in a meeting, listening without comparing, and believing my Higher Power has it all worked out….then letting go. Everything I am today comes from the gift of recovery. For that, I am truly thankful, blessed, and honored.

This month, we’re excited to feature Axis for Autism as part of our expanding effort to bring more resources to the community. We are always honored to share the wisdom of our behavioral health and recovery experts on topics that matter most, helping individuals and families as we ‘Inspire Success on the Road to Recovery.’ A heartfelt thank you to our contributors!

In honor of Veterans Day, a huge thank you to my friend and colleague Durel “Dee” Williams for his powerful article, ‘Our Veterans Deserve More Than Gratitude’—a message straight from the heart.

We are also pleased to highlight the Homes for Heroes initiative through a grant awarded to Scottsdale Recovery Center, dedicated to ‘Empowering Veterans to Rebuild Their Lives’ (page 11).”

Here’s to staying grateful!
