Amy Halm loves to play with her dogs and have some fun, until it’s time to go to work. Halm is the owner of Desert Drug Dog, a Phoenix business that provides drug dog detection to the general public.

“They’re just like a police dog,” said Halm. “People we team with train police dogs for a living. We train with the police, but we are not police.” Halm’s unique business takes her to classrooms, offices, and private homes around the Valley. If someone has a concern about a loved one or co-worker possibly doing drugs, they’ll call in a drug dog to confirm their suspicions, instead of calling police. Drug rehabs in Arizona use Amy’s service, including Scottsdale Recovery Center, Arizona Addiction Center and Fountain Hills Recovery.
