The month of February is dedicated to celebrating love in all of its forms. From romantic love, to love of family, friends, and our spiritual beliefs. Love is a powerful reminder of the beauty of human connection.
In this edition, we honor the Ayala family, who tragically lost their son Noah to an accidental opioid overdose last March. Vanessa and her family have shown immense courage by sharing Noah’s story, a testament to their unwavering love and their hope it will save lives. While recent data suggests a decline in fentanyl-related deaths, the threat remains significant. Illicit pills continue to circulate, endangering people of all ages. We must continue this fight together. I encourage you to read and share Noah’s story. Let us never forget those lost to this devastating crisis.
Purse Impressions founder, Patricia Brusha, transformed the grief of losing her 28-year-old daughter Courtney to addiction into a powerful force for good. Her compassion for others navigating recovery is evident in all she does. The annual Pop-Up fundraising event will be held at the end of this month. Proceeds will provide essential daily necessities for individuals transitioning out of addiction treatment centers.
What can be more profound than the love shared between a parent and a newborn baby? We shine a light on Tara Sundem, the founder of Hushabye Nursery. Their mission is dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment for newborns born substance exposed and their families.” Healing begins at Hushabye.
To all of our contributors, thank you from the top and bottom of my heart for your words of wisdom every month. Together we are dedicated to inspiring our community on the road to recovery.
