2024 Mental Health Matters Arizona Conference

The second annual Mental Health Matters Arizona Conference is dedicated to bringing awareness, education, and support to our community. Scheduled for September 28 at ASU’s Sky Song Campus. The conference is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in mental health to learn, connect, and grow.  Whether you are a professional, someone living with mental health challenges, a supportive family or community member, you’re invited to join this important event.  Registration is free and includes panel discussions, workshops led by local experts, and continuing education credits.  Breakfast and lunch included.

 

What to Expect at the Conference

The Mental Health Matters Arizona Conference is designed to bring our community together to share knowledge, experiences, and strategies for improving mental health care. The conference will feature a lineup of professional speakers, workshops, panel discussions, and numerous opportunities to meet others interested in mental health right here in Arizona.

Conference features include:

Youth Panel: Hear directly from teens in our community about their lived experiences of mental health challenges and what helps.

Break-Out Sessions: Choose between 8 workshop options lead by local professionals on a range of topics including positive parenting skills, general mental health, substance use treatment, LBTQIA+ resources, and care for eating disorders.

Mental Health Expert Panel: In a safe setting, ask experts from different disciplines about mental health topics including navigating healthcare appointments, finding the right treatment, how to talk to people in your life about their mental health, etc.

Meet others interested in mental health: Connect to share experiences and learn about professional resources.

 

The Conference is open to everyone with an interest in mental health, including:

Mental Health Professionals, therapists, counselors, social workers, psychologists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and psychiatrists.

Educators: Teachers, school counselors, and administrators who support student mental health.

Students and Researchers: Individuals studying mental health or conducting research in the field.

Advocates: Those working to promote mental health awareness and effective healthcare systems.

Community members: Individuals with interest in or lived experience related to mental health for themselves or their loved ones.

Mental Health Matters Arizona is more than just the annual conference.  The group also hosts an active, comprehensive website directory of mental health resources from across the state as well as events dedicated to expanding support for mental health throughout the year.  The website includes practical tools and guides for navigating mental health needs and is a welcoming space to connect with others.
